Bareilly Administration Inspects 47 Coaching Institutes, Seven Sealed for Safety Violations

Bareilly: In the wake of the recent devastating fire incident in Lucknow and with a view to ensuring the safety of students, the district administration launched a large-scale inspection drive across coaching institutes in Bareilly. The joint enforcement operation resulted in the sealing of seven coaching centres found to be operating illegally or in violation of prescribed norms.

The inspection was carried out by a joint team comprising Additional District Magistrate (City) Avinash Tripathi, Superintendent of Police (City) Manush Pareek, City Magistrate Rajesh Kumar Verma, Chief Fire Officer Manu Sharma, Additional City Magistrates, and officials from the Housing Development Council and the Bareilly Development Authority (BDA).

47 Institutes Inspected

During the drive, the team inspected 47 coaching institutions across the district to assess compliance with safety regulations, fire prevention measures, building standards, and operational permissions. The inspections focused particularly on institutes where large numbers of students regularly attend classes.

Officials examined whether the institutions were functioning in approved commercial premises, maintaining adequate fire safety arrangements, and adhering to building and occupancy regulations.

Seven Coaching Centres Sealed

During the inspection, authorities found several institutes operating from residential premises or failing to comply with mandatory safety and regulatory standards. As a result, seven coaching institutes were sealed on the spot by officials of the Bareilly Development Authority and the Housing Development Council.

The institutions sealed during the operation included:

  • Omega Classes
  • Matrix Police Academy
  • Medit (JEE/NEET)
  • Parivartan Commerce Classes
  • Sharad Coaching
  • Ashish Classes
  • One additional institute found operating in violation of norms

Officials stated that the action was taken in the interest of student safety and to ensure strict compliance with legal and safety requirements.

Safety of Students Top Priority

District authorities emphasized that the inspection campaign was initiated following concerns over fire safety and emergency preparedness in educational establishments. The recent fire tragedy in Lucknow has prompted administrations across the state to reassess safety measures in places where large numbers of students gather.

The administration reiterated that institutions failing to comply with prescribed norms would face strict action. Coaching centres have been directed to ensure proper fire-fighting equipment, emergency exits, building approvals, and other mandatory safety measures.

More Inspections Likely

Officials indicated that similar inspection drives would continue in the coming days to identify unsafe or unauthorized institutions and to ensure that students are provided with a secure learning environment.

The district administration appealed to coaching operators to strictly adhere to safety guidelines and regulatory requirements, warning that any negligence affecting student welfare would not be tolerated.
